四、補課實施方式：

1.學科：連同輔導課於段考前補授完畢，利用早修7:35-8:20及星期六早修7:35-16:40（共9節）時間補課，以因應段考；活動類科：於段考完後利用早修7:35-8:20補授。

2.補課時間安排課務如下

Halloween is one of the favorite holidays for both children and adults in North America.

在北美,萬聖節是一個十分受到大人和小孩們所喜愛的重要節慶之一。

On the night of October 31, families decorate their homes with carved pumpkins called jack-o-lanterns. 

在每年10月31日,家家戶戶會用一種叫做”jack-o-lanterns”的雕刻南瓜裝飾自己的家。

Children dress up like ghosts, monsters, witches and even storybook princesses and famous heroes.

孩子們會把自己打成鬼、怪獸、巫婆甚至是童話故事裡的公主或有名的大英雄。

They go from house to house in their neighborhood knocking on doors and shouting, "Trick or treat!" to receive candy and sweets.

他們會一起挨家挨戶的敲著鄰居的大門並大叫: Trick or treat! 希望能藉此獲得一些糖果或點心。.

Halloween is actually a very old holiday that has changed a lot since it was first celebrated.

事實上,打從第一次慶祝萬聖節的活動到現在,得多慶祝方式已經無形中隨著時間改變而與原先有很大的不同了‧

A long time ago people in Europe celebrated the end of summer and the beginning of the new year on October 31.

很久以前,歐洲的人們都會在每年暑假的尾聲和(古代所謂的)新年的開始—10月31日。

They believed that on this day the spirits of the people who died that year could walk the Earth again.

他們深信在這一天,所有已經升天的靈魂都能夠在這一天再回到地球。

People would dress up in costumes and parade around their village making lots of noise.

人們會盡情打扮自己,裝扮成各種不同造型,並在自己的村莊裡面大聲叫喊沿街遊行。

They wanted to scare away the evil ghosts and spirits.

他們想要跑那些鬼怪神魔。

Later, Christians in England and Leland took the holiday as their won.

後來,居住在英格蘭和愛爾蘭的基督徒把這一天訂為他們自己的假日。

They changed it to honor their saints.

他們用來尊敬紀念他們所信仰的神靈。

November 1 became “All Saints Day,” or “All Hallows Day.”

11月1日變成了”神靈大會”或是”神靈之日”。

The night before, October31, was All Hallows Eve.

在這前一晚,10月31日便成了所有神靈聚集在一起的夜晚。

The name was shortened to Halloween.

其名稱簡稱為Halloween.

Even though it was a Christian holiday, people kept many of the old traditions.

即便這是屬於基督徒的節日,人們依舊保有了相當多的傳統習俗。

People in different parts of Europe celebrated it in different ways.

在歐洲許多地方,人們也都會用不同的方式來慶祝這一天。

In some places they wore frightening costumes.

有些地方的人會穿著十分嚇人的服裝,

In other countries they went door-to-door collecting special cakes called “soul cakes.”

有些地方人們會挨家挨戶的去蒐集特別的蛋糕,他們稱”靈魂蛋糕”

In Ireland, people played tricks on each other.

在愛爾蘭,人們會互相捉弄開彼此的玩笑。

Later these traditions were mixed together when people from all parts of Europe moved to America.

後來這些活動,因為本住在歐洲各地的人們搬往美國後混合在一起了。

One of the most popular traditions is making jack-o-lanterns from pumpkins.

最普遍的傳統活動就是用南瓜製作jack-o-lanterns。

The first jack-o-lanterns were actually cut from turnips.

事實上第一個jack-o-lanterns 是由鬱金香花所做成的。

The tradition began with the story of Jack, an evil man who once tricked the devil.

這個故事起源於Jack,一個曾經捉弄惡魔的邪惡男子!

After he died, jack could not get into heaven because of his evil ways, but he could not get into hell either because of the trick he played on the devil.

當他死後,因為他的惡作劇的行為讓他不能升天,也因為他捉弄惡魔不能下地獄。

Because he would have to walk in the darkness forever, the devil gave him a lantern made from a carved turnip to light his way.

因為他必須在黑暗中行走,惡魔給了他一個由鬱金香雕刻而成的燈籠讓他照路。

The Irish made “Jack’s lanterns” out of turnips every Halloween.

愛爾蘭人會在每一次的萬聖節用鬱金香來製造Jack的燈籠。

When they come to America, they discovered that pumpkins were much easier to carve.

當他們移民到美國時發現南瓜會比鬱金香來得容易雕刻。

Today people like to carve scary faces in their jack-o-lanterns and place then in front of their homes on this very special night.

今天人們喜歡在南瓜上雕刻和種恐怖人的表情並在這個特別的夜裡把他們擺放在家門前。

On Halloween, you wouldn’t be caught dead without a jack-o-lantern in front of your home.

在萬聖節天,你如果放一個jack-o-lantern在門前放不用怕被活抓了。

敬愛的家長：

明年寒假及年假原為不連續情況，為讓學生假期連續，
縣府來文下學期開學日統一訂為99年2月22日，
其中上課日: 2/11、2/12、2/19 三日調整為彈性放假(需補課)

2/19已統一規定於2/27(六)補班補課，

2/11、2/12則授權各校自行選定補課日期

（縣府建議補課日可結合全校性活動如校慶、親職教育日等補休辦理）

本校規劃本學期之運動會及下學期親職教育日不補休，

以因應2/11、2/12之彈性放假補課。

即明年寒假由99/1/21至2/21，2月22日開學

2/27(六)需到校補課，

本校於本學年假日舉辦之運動會及親職教育日則不予補假
