I was grateful that I did not win, for that I truly picked up the valuable lesson that Thomas taught me. Our whole life is a contest, and until the end, we will not stop competing -- with ourselves.  

這次失敗讓我真正學到Thomas教我的功課：人的一生就是一場競賽，未到終點，我們不會停止與自己競賽。

No matter how funny the joke that I found on the Internet, I could never turn it into a powerful speech. I realized that only when I told my own story could I make my speech vivid and touching, since nothing is more persuasive than a true story. 
 

不管那些我從網路上找來多麼有趣的笑話，我始終無法把他們變成一篇有力的演講稿。我恍然大悟，只有當我以自身經驗為故事，我才有可能寫出一篇栩栩如生且動人的演講稿，因為再沒有比真實故事更具說服力了！
