Gordon has been inviting me to GIGC club for more than one year. I didn’t make it until yesterday. Reason being “I live away from Taipei city on weekends.” It sounds silly that I didn’t join it just for this reason. Honestly speaking, the main reason is that I am not a “gourmet”.

The inter-collegiate English Speech Contest came to an end today in Taipei. This is the first time D67 being one of the sponsors. There are more than 5 members to be invited to be the judges. Both District Governor Jack Tsai and Lester Lin did a great promotion in this national contest by giving their comments and language evaluation respectively. The audience, contestants and the organizors were so impressed with Toastmasters training and got intersted in joining the Toastmasters clubs. It is indeed a very sucessful outreach for D67 by co-hosting such a national event with Studio Classroom, ICRT and Rotary clubs. 

Besides, one of our members, Rachel Wu, the President of National Cheng Kong University was the only one Toastmaster to enter the final contest. There were just 9 finalists out of 50 contestants.  Rachel did a great job in the improntu speech contest. Let's congratulate her and we are so proud of  having her in D67!
