在八零年代，音樂還沒帶給我憤怒，而是一種在現實生活中所有苦悶的發洩。那是一個別人都不知道，只屬於我的秘密世界。在一個人的世界中，我被吉他猛烈轟炸。一種在孤獨中的喧囂。
在我小小封閉的音樂世界之外，台灣卻正在進行一場大革命。
1986年民進黨成立，1987年解嚴，1988年威權統治者蔣經國過世、五二零農民抗爭、鄭南榕自焚……。
在那場革命中，我只是報紙前的旁觀者。
但不只是我。台灣的音樂也和政治新聞遠遠地、安靜地坐在報紙的不同版面上。
