Scientists Predict Solar Cycle 24 to Peak in 2013 (May 11, 2009) -- At the annual Space Weather Workshop held in Boulder, Colorado last month, an international panel of experts led by NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) predicted that Solar Cycle 24 will peak in May 2013 with 90 sunspots per day on average. If the prediction proves true, Solar Cycle 24 will be the weakest cycle since Solar Cycle 16 which peaked with 78 daily sunspots in 1928, and ninth weakest since the 1750s, when numbered cycles began.

4U1UN  - Bernie, W3UR and other four  operators  will  be  active  from  the
         United  Nations  Headquarters  during  the  weekend.  Activity   is
         expected to begin around 21 UTC  on  20  March  and  continue  into
         midday on the 22nd. They will be QRV with  two  stations,  with  an
         emphasis on the low bands and special attention for Japan  (20m  at
         21.30-23.00 UTC), VK/ZL & other Pacific (40m at  09.00-11.00  UTC),
