「滴蜜者合唱團」（The Honeydrippers）組成原本只是玩票性的團體, 由搖滾樂界神級老團Led Zeppelin「齊柏林飛船」 大名鼎鼎的主唱Robert Plant和一樣是歐吉桑級的吉他手 Jimmy Page、Jeff Beck等人，在1984年組成了The Honeydrippers這個曇花一現的超級組合，並發行了該團唯一一張老歌新唱EP ~ Vol . 1 這首Sea of Love保持了原曲中大量的弦樂編制，Robert Plant的唱腔少了生猛帶勁的搖滾嘶吼，慵懶歌聲中魅力依舊，愛慕柔情盡現。

除了某知名香水廣告以及艾爾帕西諾主演的警匪驚悚片「激情劊子手」（Sea of love）就是以這首老歌為主題曲，但原唱並非「滴蜜者合唱團」Honey Drippers，不過「滴蜜者合唱團」的版本比起原唱更勝三分。在本地最廣為熟知也最浪漫動人的應是The Honeydrippers在1984年的翻唱版， 不但散見於各暢銷80合輯中，也是排行銷售成績最好的版本, 原唱為Phil Phillips 1959 年登上Top #2, 後於 1981年Del Shannon翻唱後登上TOP #33。
