這首歌是由John Waite與Chase Sandford合寫，Chase後來曾取代Peter Cetera成為Chicago的主唱一陣子，他也寫過不少暢銷曲，包括Stevie Nicks在1986年升到第四名的Talk To Me，這兩首的旋律與編曲還有點神似！這首歌雖名為「想念你」，但是歌詞內容卻是說「自從你離我遠去之後，但我一點都不想你」，嘴巴雖然說不想，但心裡卻想得要命，刻意地用相反的行為來掩飾心中的慾望。因為歌壇上不乏一卡車「我多愛你，我多想你」的歌，用這種反向的唱法，反而引起相當多人的共鳴，因為很多人在失戀後也是拼命這樣理智地告訴自己，希望能盡快走出傷痛。



這首歌於1984年的9月升到排行冠軍，剛好把當年爆紅的Tina Turner的What's Love Got To Do With It替換下來，而且。重點是在11年後的1995年，Tina Turner還真的重新翻唱了這首，收錄在Wildest Dreams專輯Tina的版本基本上沒有改太多，只是把前半段的伴奏變的比較柔，到後面才開始高亢起來，而且最後有一個柔和的結尾，我相當喜歡；John的原版則是比較有節奏感，特別是前奏的鼓聲一下
