Without warnings, few drops of rain suddenly turned into a giant storm. Water were pouring down furiously from the heaven, hitting roads, cars, bikes, passengers, straying dogs and whatever unfortunate thing that got in their way. It's like Tetris on the highest difficulty level, but there were millions more blocks falling down simultaneously, and some lightning were threw in for good measure.
Armed with only a single, dark blue umbrella, I tried to defend myself and my backpack from the attack of the H2O armies. Just covering my head and upper body was already hard enough, anywhere lower than my ankles were a lost cause. Without any thought of finding a temporary shelter, my feet moved along in the stream that had covered up the streets.
I kept walking and walking. For no matter how wet I get, I knew there is a place called "home" waiting for me at the far end of the road. The faster I walk, the quicker I can return to that familiar comfort and warmth. The idea of "home" became lovelier than ever in a glooming day like this.
As the raindrops raged on, each one hit the ground faster than the last one, I sped toward my destination. I started fantasizing about a nice, warm shower, and lying on the sofa in the living room watching old movies and eating cookies, or reading a favorite novel in bed as I listen to the symphony conducted by the storm outside my window. What a lovely, stormy afternoon it will be!
