本來快對學術失去熱情的我,這幾天被友人激勵,總算立定方向,又拿起原典閱讀
結果,有趣的事就這麼發生了
先來看看底下這個以紅字標明的句子吧(出自哪裡,並不重要)
The driving force for critical reflection in Mezirow’s paradigm is what he considers to be the unquenchable human search for meaning and coherence.
Mezirow, in fact, states that “no need is more fundamentally human than our need to understand the meaning of our experience”(1990: 11).
And while he does not name this inner search in terms of spirituality, Mezirow’s view of the human person is highly compatible with religious anthropologies that see a “holy longing” (Rolheiser, 1999) at the center of human existence. Mezirow also acknowledges that conditions of hunger, poverty, illiteracy, and social contexts laden with unequal power relationships constrain a person’s ability to engage in free, critical reflection and dialogue (2000b: 27–28).
Because of this, adult educators cannot remain neutral with respect to social justice issues.
