not sure why this happened, but i lost several recent postings
during november and december, i had made a few postings on this blog. they seemed to have disappeared. hopefully, whatever technical problem caused the missing posts has been resolved. i'm starting over this semester with some new material. hopefully, i will make the blog a weekly task
