細小冰寒的冥王星，是1930年才被發現的太陽系外圍天體。到了1978年，它相對來說相當大的衛星--冥衛一 (Charon)才從地面拍攝的影像中尋獲。哈伯太空望遠鏡今年可能又找到了二顆冥王星系統的新成員，參見上面這二幅取像時間相差三天的長時間曝光哈伯影像。暫時被命名為S/2005 P1和S/2005 P2，這二顆可能的新衛星以逆時鐘方向繞行冥王星，軌道距離約為四萬四千公里。這些小小的昏暗衛星在2002年的哈伯冥王星影像就出現過，為了要證實它們是否真得是新衛星，哈伯望遠鏡計畫在明年的一月進行追蹤觀測。http://www.phys.ncku.edu.tw/~astrolab/ 天文教學實驗室

The number of Category Four and Five hurricanes—the most powerful, damaging storms—has nearly doubled over the past 35 years, a new study suggests. Scientists differ, however, over this statistic and whether global warming is to blame.
