民宿~~桃園縣拉拉山福緣山莊

The place is surrounded by beautiful nature and the quality of sleep is great. The owners are incredibly nice and warm people. We travelled with two little children, and we felt ourselves immediatly at home, truly and heartly welcomed. The food was wonderful. We were taken to Mount Lala Ancient Trees, and to some wonderful little fruit and fish farms around. We would certainly recommend this place, and we would like very much to revisit Fu-Yam.

Can not agreed more with all the reviews on this resort in Tripadvisor .. anyway, my version ..

Great stay and home stay experience in FuYam. Very good service and hospitality provided by Chung senior and Ah Khui (Mr Wu). Resort located in the valley surrounded by a lot of green. Though it took about 2.5 hrs to the resort from TaoYuan airport, it worth the travel . Along the way , you can stop over to enjoy some titbits , and enjoy the scenery. Must have a stop over in Da-Si old town. Tried their bean curd (not the smelly one) , Yam rice and the peanut candy .

Go to their website and select the choice of your room. All are nicely done ( wish the bed be softer though ).

Dinner, lunches and breakfast were great .. cooked by Mrs Chung and Ah Khui. Simple Hakka cookings , yet delicious . We finished almost every meals .. clean plate club ! If you see or have carving for certain food , you can also suggest and they might be able to cook for you.

Activities wise .. for a more relaxing stay .. do plan for 3D/2N in Lala Shan. What we did on this trip ..
1) Visited LaLa Shan forest reserved ... close encounter with 2000+ yrs old tree
2) Visited Fish Farm
3) Fishing @ LaLa Stream
4) Visited Peach Farm. Fu Yam has a few fruits tree too.
5) Exploring nearby area by foot .. look for Bugs , Butterfly and frogs

My recommendation (for foreigner only) if you planning to try out this place ..
1) Maximize your experience .. stay during local off peak season.
2) Bring some of your local delicacy or cooked food stuff or beverage .. for sharing in dinner time. it would be good to bring along stuff like the ready make packet, Bak-Kut-Teh, Curry Fish Head , dry meat, etc .. or maybe you should cook a dish ..
3) Bring torch light and mosquito repellent .. for wondering @ night
4) Expect good socializing .. mingle with the rest of the guest .. most are friendly
5) If you staying in a few places in Taiwan, they can arrange the trip for you .. for instance, you might want to try Yilan, TaiChung, PengHu, etc .

Lastly, Senior Chung is a very warm and chatty person .. in his best mood, you can sample his liquor collection .. rice wine, red wine, etc .. Hope you have a good trip

My family of 5 ( with one elder,one young child )spent 2 nights in Fu-Yam. The whole package was good with the host arranging pick up from the airport and sending us to our next destination in taipei. Saving us a lot of inconveinence.

What we like most is the natural setting we stay in, hospitality of the host, food and the relax manner of the intinery planned.
Places of interest we visited are: Lala mountain thousand years old trees, fruit farms ( perssimons and kiwi fruit ),some old town along the way,fish and crab farms.

I would describe Fu-yam as 'Paradise for city people'. The almost 2 hours driving distance fromTaoyuan airport keep the air and sound pollution away. The environment is nice though the hardworking of the owner, Mr. & Mrs. Chung, who spent many years to build up the garden, small farms, fish pool... etc. Mrs. Chung (throught the help of the tourist guide, Sky) cook excellent Haka meals for us. Of coruse, their love dog & their Indonesian domestic helper (sorry, I forget their names) are wonderful companion during our stay.
However, it would be better if there can be a small table inside the room, so that we can pack our luggage more convenient

A great place to stay if you need a retreat into the nature. Very clean and spacious room that are simple but very tastefully decorated. Both Mr and Mrs Chung are very kind and hospitable. Home cooked food are great too. We were treated to red wine by Mr Chung when he overheard that we wished we had bought some wine on our way up! A walk in the nearby La La mountain complements the stay. The guide Sky Wu was fantastic! He was very easy going and after a while we are so comfortable with him that we just treated him like one of us. He is not at all mercenary and will acede to all our request beyond the call of duty!

We had a memorable 2 nights stay at Fu-Yam. It really is a wonderful home-away-from-home. The rooms are cosy and the minsu compound is beautifully landscaped. With nature all around, being surrounded by forest and a creek, it is tranquil and soothes the weary souls.

We were especially touched by Mr and Mrs Chung’s warmth and hospitality. Even their dog, Kilo, is just a friendly, gentle giant.

Guests can help themselves to the floral/herbal tea and coffee any time. They serve delicious meals with fresh vegetables from their own garden. It was simply relaxing just chatting with fellow guests and the owners over a hot pot of tea under the stars after dinner!

Mr Chung took us for a trek on Lalashan and also brought us to explore along the creek later that day. What was most forgettable was Mr Chung roasting sweet potatoes for our supper. He even let us light fire-crackers knowing that we hardly have such a chance to do so in Singapore!

Their service is first-class which is beyond the call of duty. When they found out that we had problems booking train tickets to one of our destinations, Mr Chung went all out to seek a friend’s help to secure the tickets for us.

We felt like we arrived as guests but left as friends. We would certainly return to Fu-yam if we have the chance.

My family (2 adults + 1 child) had a really great stay at Fu Yam. We decided to stay for 3 nights based on the rave reviews from this site and it was certainly a good decision. After leaving Fu Yam and moving on to other parts of Taiwan, I kept wishing we were back at Lalashan!

The greatest part of our stay was the warm hospitality of the owners Mr & Mrs Chung and the very friendly and responsible guide Sky. We were definitely in good hands and felt as if we were among friends. The family dog Kero joined in to make us feel welcomed and even accompanied me on a 1-hour morning walk!

This is a place where you can just relax and forget about your worries. It's also great as your own personal spiritual retreat. Bring lots of books, wine, and good walking shoes. Most of all, be prepared to to embrace the owners and the guide as your newfound friends and leave with lots of good memories.

Mr & Mrs Cheung are such warm hosts, constantly ensuring that the stay for us is comfortable and enjoyable. Their service is unrivalled as they often went out of their way to help us whenever we face any problems.

Their rooms are spacious, aesthetically designed and clean. One would definitely enjoy a good night's sleep in their rooms.

Mrs Cheung prepared the meals herself and I must say her culinary skills is comparable to those of the hotel chefs. Her Hakka dishes are tasty and healthy at the same time as the vegetables are usually grown by them.

The guide, Sky, recommended by them, is one of the highlights of our stay there. He not only brought us around Lala Mountain, he also took us fishing and even helped us take many pictures along the way. The most wonderful part was that on the day we were leaving, he gave us a video which he made using the pictures he took of me and my fiance when we were touring around Lala Mountain!

On the whole, this was one of the best holiday accomodation I had ever experienced and I would definitely return to Fu Yam when I visit taiwan again.

A true good and beautiful place to relax and stay, especially you go in the month of March difference kind of the flowers blooming all over the places, you will be enjoying 5 star rating in accommodation and service.
