大象男孩‧機器女孩
紀錄片《大象男孩與機器女孩》沒有廉價賺取觀眾的眼淚，而是真誠述說在台灣社會中身心障礙兒童的生活。面對這樣的孩子，對比政治人物爭權牟利的嘴臉，不禁感嘆政府的社會福利政策到底做到哪裡去？
這樣的紀錄片只要一不小心，很容易流於濫情，但是導演的用心使得整部片子散發出一股誠懇而堅定的氣息。在《商業週刊》與導演林育賢的訪問中，他提到自己的拍攝角度：
我想我會延續「翻滾」的風格，但會改用「童話」敘事。因為這樣一個寫實故事，很容易聯想到「悲憐」，我不希望用這樣的切點，因為太容易了！你只要一看到影片就會感動落淚，但是，未必就是要朝這個方向走。透過童話的方式，比較能夠賦予想像，傳達「希望」。
所以，我會希望整個影片，會有悲傷的地方，可是悲傷完之後，我們會得到一些振奮的感覺，所以我把它定位為一個「冒險」。
在這個關鍵點上，因為有我們的介入，他們的生命開始有了轉折，開始有了改變，我定義這是他們人生下一段的冒險。
當導演被問到如何定義這部片子時，他給了一個既讓人感動也非常實在的答案：
我一直要說，這不只是一部紀錄片。我認為它只是一個開始。它真的只是一個逗點，只是一個開始不是結束。如果你願意，我們希望你伸出援手，可以幫助他們，很簡單的跟他說聲：「嗨！你好！」這樣就夠了。不需要悲憐他們。剩下的，他們會證明給你看。
面對這樣的孩子，恐懼和無知常常使得一般人們總是對他們嫌惡，避之唯恐不及。一個笑容，就是我們學習與身心障礙人士相處的開始。
