yesterday was baochanghui at imm with wangchi! ;D so cool hahaha. this year got a lot of people >.< which was quite expected but also not very expected, considering last year's artistes were more attractive! but i must agree this year's one is more large-scale, in terms of publicity and all that. the programme also looks more well-thought than last year's. so first was energy, which obviously was super high coz they were dancing like non-stop before ending with one of their mega hits 某年某月某一天. and of course if energy went and milk went then there must be some form of interaction between them right. milk sang that song with energy! lol initially i thought it would be quite awkward for them to 同台演出 coz they were once a group before before milk went solo. but yesterday they looked quite normal haha. and gosh, there was like a guy-guy kissing scene on stage which was quite amusing!

then after that was milk's solo. his dance is damn good, but obviously he needs to work on his vocals lah. haha. overall the visual appeal was very good.

then omg it was jade lau! she is just imba lah go and buy her album if you haven't buy! wangchi says on the backdrop her picture looks like the L in deathnote. i totally asked him if he thought L was the one coming omg damn funny. she sang 我就是這樣 and 眼淚笑了 solo! 眼淚笑了 is such a nice and touching song! then yoga appeared and both of them sang 傳説 [omg!?!? another frigging touching song but they cut short! hmphhh], ti amo [ok not bad, yoga pwns the original male singer hahaha] and 你是我心内的一首歌 [lol i thought they sounded quite weird singing this song together coz it was supposed to sound sweet and cute but their voices too imba how to cute!]

yoga is also just imba his vocal range is very wide! even though he flopped during 金曲獎 but i still believe his live singing is very stable as witnessed! 病態 was like o.O wow, and obviously 伯樂 the very k song was like damn powerful! chen xi say it sounded quite off on the phone, hahaha but obviously it was the fans' fault lah. scream so loud -.-

ohshit i realise i need to finish pw written report by today but i hafen really started! shall continue this post again soon arh. coz the last 2 artiste are not the ones which i really look forward to. heee. ;D

congrats to tanya for winning best female vocalist again! this is her 2nd best female vocalist award in 3 years! she also won best producer, which is a very prestigious award for album producers. she cried on the spot and i felt like crying for her too! >.< fish didnt win best female again, to most's disappointment. but at least chongbai won best mv! =D

best male, unfortunately, is gary, and seriously why did they let eason present the award lah it's so damn awkward!

karen's album got best best album, just as i predicted. hurhur! yay! initially was wondering whether the judges will accept such a alternative and non-mainstream album but luckily they proved that they were using their ears to judge. and karen was so damn high lah. and why did 青花瓷 win so many awards -.-

amei and yanzi walked away empty-handed. better luck next year bah...

a side note, but i think the organisers of the award ceremony should buck up if they still want to maintain their credibility lor. 近年来金曲奖越来越缺公信度, and i've lost hope in jinqujiang ever since jolin won best female vocalist last year. next year will be the award's 20th year of existence, and if they want to have many more 20 years, they really need to improve lor. or at least prevent it from getting so lacklustre.

between 大嘴巴, soler and 南拳媽媽. but luckily, there's no S.H.E and fahrenheit. seriously dont know why S.H.E fans are complaining that S.H.E are the biggest 遺珠 this time. Play isn't even a decent album! they just sort of screwed their music career with that lah. =.= though 大嘴巴 is like quite fresh and unusual in the market but they just formed their group recently. dont think they'll win. 南拳媽媽 is the 'oldest' among all the 3 but their previous album didnt even leave any impression on me at all. so i guess i'll give it to soler, even though that album isnt that impressive either. but well, since they have the vocals so might as well just give them lor.

旺福樂團 is out, too corny. 拷秋勤 also not very possible, nothing special. 這位太太 is not bad, but i guess they still need to do lots of work before they're considered as 最佳樂團. cherryboom is good too, but the remaining 2 are stronger, so cherryboom gotta wait longer! and then it's between sodagreen and 范曉萱+100%樂團! 范曉萱+100%樂團 is very refreshing, while their songs are like weird weird that type but can attract attention! sodagreen is imba as well, their 無與倫比的美麗 album is more personal to the band itself and it is as pleasant as ever listening to qingfeng's renditions of the songs. but i guess since they've won it last year already, this time they might just give it to 范曉萱+100%樂團 bah. their album stretches into many different genres.

very difficult to choose also! byebye to Love Song and 青花瓷 first. Love Song is really tooooo overrated and i dont see how on earth it can be 年度歌曲! maybe the judges think it can lah, but to me it's just too plain and a far cry from his previous 愛愛愛 (which wasnt really decent also btw). 青花瓷 just sounds like jay is trying to create another 菊花台! and that's a nono for GMA. 無與倫比的美麗 also sounds a bit like 小情歌. but since last year's megahit 小情歌 couldn't earn sodagreen this award, then i dont think 無與倫比的美麗 can leh. as for 一眼瞬間 it is a very good song, but somehow i get the feeling that amei and jam focused more on vocal tactics rather than the feelings. so sadly, that song is out for me too. then it's between yanzi's 逆光 and tanya's 達爾文. 達爾文 sounds a bit too plain, while 逆光 just has the 氣質 for best song! but of course 逆光 is like more commercialised lah. i think it'll be a close fight between yanzi and tanya for this award. initially i was rooting for amei and jam, but since jam is not going to the award ceremony, even if this song wins there'll be no chance for them to sing the song together live. so, i'm rooting for yanzi, as i think this may be the only award yanzi can get this time round. BUT I STILL CARN UNDERSTAND WHY 我懷念的 AND 崇拜 ARE NOT NOMINATED. i think 我懷念的 best represents yanzi's whole album, and 崇拜 just gives fish's career a new peak. but well, competition too strong liao.

this one also got very tough fight. and i'm sadly going to eliminate jay's 我很忙 and amei's Star first. actually jay's album was not bad, just that one particular song killed him off. yes, it's that 牛仔很忙. it's just a breakthrough in the wrong direction, and i dont understand why he had to do that. it's just like, changing for the sake of changing. as for amei's Star, as i've mentioned, Star isn't a very good album you see. It was almost like a roller-coaster ride when listening to the album. i think 逆光 is a worthy candidate, but probably not enough to win best album bah. the album is like, nothing special, very predictable. and i felt yanzi's voice could have been brought out better by the choice of songs. so yeah, sorry yanzi. then sodagreen's 無與倫比的美麗 is like, just 2 or 3 tracks stand out, and the rest are not very memorable. so i think it's between karen mok and tanya. actually it will be between tanya and karen lah. tanya's album is like wow, cannot tell that this is the first time tanya produced her own album! it's really enjoyable listening to this album, following the different emotions of every song. BUT I THINK KAREN MOK WILL WIN IT. karen's album is also totally imba. also cannot tell this is her first time composing. and i think what makes karen's album stand out from the rest is that EVERY song in the album is equally outstanding, once you start listening to the album you wont feel like stopping at all. and i'm very surprised how karen managed to do that, making it not commercialised but very attractive at the same time. it just has that very karen mok style and 很有態度 lor. tanya's album also evidently has her style, but tanya still can win next time lah. haha. karen cannot liao, last album. heh!

ok this one quite easy to eliminate the first few. gary's 起床歌 is a no-no for me. jolin's 特務J also! how can these 2 songs be nominated?! 特務J is so unoriginal and 起床歌 just sounds dumb! tanya's 達爾文 is out too, since it has a very plain arrangement. 青花瓷 very typical 中國風-ish, so nothing special there. 逆光 and 崇拜 quite similar, at the beginning start to build up then at the middle just explode with all the emotions and become very 澎湃. lol. so since between these 2 songs quite hard to choose 1 of them, then might as well just discount both. so we're left with sodagreen's 無與倫比的美麗, which i think will be a worthy winner! =D

a rare successive english post!

anw jinqujiang is this saturday 5th july at 1930! omg it's damn fast. i rmb people were still speculating who will be nominated for the awards like a few weeks ago, and now this weekend the winners will be announced! omg damn excited.

after repeatedly listening to all the nominated works within these few weeks, i sort of have the winners in mind already. ignore the posts a few weeks back, coz i hafen recapped on all the works at that time yet.

for best male, my prediction hafen changed a single bit. yes, eason chan it will be. seriously i carn think of any nominees better than him! gary cao? NO, "super sunshine" is not a good album. yang pei an and shin also out of the picture, they are too rocker-ish. and, tank? all along he's a music person to me, never a vocal one. so, eason.

best female. the one which gives me the most headache. i want every one of them to win omg! but i'll rule out tanya and yanzi first. though they're very worthy nominees, but they just won their "best female vocalist" awards just a few years back. yanzi's niguang is a good production, but somehow the judges will be convinced that there's no breakthrough this time. and she could have capitalised on her outstanding voice too. as for tanya, this is the first time she's been involved in the production of her album, so i guess the awards she'll sweep are those composing and producing ones.
the next i'll eliminate is fish i guess. she deserves recognition since like long long ago! no doubt chongbai brought her career to a new height, but judging from the previous winners, it seems that a single song wouldn't be enough for one to be awarded the best vocalist. also, she already waited for so many years already. one more year wouldn't really make a big difference i guess.
sadly, the next one i'll eliminate a*mei. among the 6 nominees she obviously has the best vocals, but in terms of the album production, i'll say that STAR isn't a really good album. it's just like a roller coaster ride when you listen to the album. the songs dont really flow, and it's less personal than woyaokuaile. since woyaokuaile which was a really superb album didnt let her win last year, then this year she might have to wait again for a 2nd best female vocalist award.

so it's joi vs karen. karen has the upperhand obviously, as she has won the award before in 2002. Live is.. karen mok is also a wonderful album, showcasing her ability to stretch into different genres and even exhibiting her composing talents. most importantly, it is not tailor-made for the demands in the market, so it's not commercialised at all. joi will lose out a lot in terms of commercialism, which is what the judges have been looking out for all along bah.

BUT, joi seriously stands a chance to win also. the other 5 nominees have already established themselves as very successful vocalists and musicians, irregardless of whether they won the award before. this could be a career-defining moment for joi if she really wins the award. in recent years there seem to be less and less female singers who can be really called tianhous, and i think the judges will be very interested in promoting a new tianhou as the next best female vocalist. and so, I AM OFFICIALLY ROOTING FOR JOI CHUA THIS TIME ROUND.
