旅途上遇到的美食

好不容易熬到天黑, 一向晚習慣晚吃飯的我才過五點便拉著李先生要上我們的第二個目的地去:
Kabuto

這餐廳很小, 不接受預定, 5:30pm 才開門, 而且只做晚餐.
我們 5:45pm 抵達時餐廳已客滿, 等了45分鐘後才輪到我們. 在等待的時候已經看著其他食客們桌上的美食流口水了, 所以當我們像沙丁魚一樣地被擠在入口, 跟等候的客人們的衣角摩擦的位子裡時, 我們在眾人忌妒的注視下入座一點怨言也沒有.
note:
1. 餐廳實在太擁擠了, 我周圍的燈光都被等候的客人們擋住, 所以這些照片照得不好 (技術爛也是有關係啦 ^^" ) Anyways, I didn't do the food justice at all. 看這些照片時請用點想像力
2. 這頓飯我中文能力太差, 只好用英文報告了
3. 這是我第一次吃 sashimi, 日本餐我不懂, 沒法做很完全的記錄
Kabuto有兩份菜單, 一份是傳統日本菜, 另一份則是師傅個人的創作: 大多是生魚和水果的巧妙組合, 雖然聽起來很怪, 但是吃了絕對忘不了的美味, 而且風味獨特. 師傅常常換菜單, 也許下次去就沒有相同的菜色了.
Grill Marinated Sea Bass: w/ sides of Tamako, steamed spanich, bonito flakes, pickled ginger

Toro Tartar: fresh toro chunks w/ advocado and apple chunks, fried seaweed and many ingredients I can't name.

One mouthful of this sushi and I was in heavenly delight. The toro and advocado complements each other in creaminess while the slightly tart and crip apple contrasts toro in texture but inhances its sweetness. At first, my palate was too busy savoring the toro tartar. Every morsel of it just tickles and satisfies every taste buds. It was until I chew more that the crisp seaweed and rice came into play. By then, the velvety of toro and advocado has come back to wrap up the whole experience. This piece along is worth all the driving.
Crab Shrimp Tartar: fresh amaebi and cooked shirmp topped w/ slices of white grapes and cilantro

Another tantalizing piece from the chef. This time the chef plays the sweetness of amaebi w/ steamed crab meat. Amaebi is so delicate, so adding the not over-powering grapes in it is just another brilliant stroke of the chef.
Tuna Carpaccio: w/ caviar, then dressed w/ yogurt and fresh egg yolks

This dish is so appealing to the eyes w/ its vibrant colors. I would say its the impressionists style.

Albacore Tuna Lettuce Wrap: albacore tuna, julienned carrots, cabbage and rice wrapped in romaine lettuce, topped w/ tapico, then dressed w/ a very light citrus mayonnaise sauce

因為這次照片照得不好, 我很慶幸有堂皇的藉口可以讓我有機會再專程開 800 miles 回去吃
