Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. A crude population measure of obesity is the body mass index (BMI), a person’s weight (in kilograms) divided by the square of his or her height (in metres). A person with a BMI of 30 or more is generally considered obese. A person with a BMI equal to or more than 25 is considered overweight.
Overweight and obesity are major risk factors for a number of chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Once considered a problem only in high income countries, overweight and obesity are now dramatically on the rise in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in urban settings.

Do you like potato chips? Many people do, especially people in the United States. Believe it or not, Americans' favorite snack food is the potato chip. You might think that somewhere a genius came up with the idea for the first potato chips. In fact, it didn't happen that way. There is an interesting story behind how potato chips were first made.It happened one night in 1853 in a very nice restaurant in Saratoga Springs, New York. The Moon Lake Restaurant's menu included French-fried potato. This was a popular way of preparing potatoes that has been introduced to America from France. French fries were thickly cut potatoes, cooked in oil until it turned golden brown and crisp on the outside. One evening, a restaurant guest complained that his potatoes were too thick. So he asked the waiter to send them back to the kitchen. The cook sliced some potatoes thinner than before and fried them back a second time!

Although we all love them, the truth still makes someone move back. 100g of potato chips contains 35g of fat. There so much fat that you can use potato chips as tinder. Quite frightening...
TOP2- Chocolate
Chocolate in its purest state — the "liquor" made from ground, processed cacao beans — must contain between 50 percent and 60 percent cocoa butter, also known as cocoa fat. Chocolate has the reputation of being a “forbidden food” that's divinely delicious, especially around Valentine's Day. In fact, the ancient Mayans referred to chocolate as the food of the gods. Today, research has shown that chocolate has some beneficial health effects and is not necessarily a food taboo.
A different saturated fat
Chocolate contains cocoa butter, which is high in saturated fat, yet one-third of chocolate's fat comes from stearic acid. Although it's a saturated fat, stearic acid does not raise LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) as do most other saturated fats. Stearic acid is converted in the liver to oleic acid, a heart-healthy, monounsaturated fat.
Another one-third of chocolate's total fat comes from oleic acid itself. In a recent study, volunteers followed a diet with the majority of their fat calories coming from either chocolate or from butter. The volunteers who consumed chocolate fat did not show an increase in their cholesterol levels, but those who ate butterfat developed elevated LDL cholesterol levels.
Chocolate, this Mayan food of the gods, has both its positive and negative health benefits. Rather than replace your daily dose of fruits and vegetables with a hunk of solid chocolate, the best way to go about eating chocolate is in moderation.
An occasional chocolate bar during the week is acceptable within the context of a balanced diet. If you do decide to add chocolate to your diet, it's also important to make “trade-offs” with other high calorie foods so chocolate can fit into your diet without gaining weight.
