With great pleasure, we are announcing to you that Mr. Richard Burkhart will be present at our school to give a talk on retirement planning. This is a topic we all can benefit from, whether you are young or old. Please see the announcement below for Mr. Burkhart's qualifications.

In planning seminars for the CLS community, we have set the following standards in choosing topics and lecturers.
1. The topic is judged to appeal to the school staff, teachers, parents of the students, and friends of our school.
2. The speaker's expertise fits the topic. The speaker is interested in sharing his knowledge with us for free rather than trying to promote his business. (No Tuperware Party! No Market America! No Primerica, ...and the like)

If the attendance is good for this seminar, we may continue to arrange talks on health care, and estate planning in the near future.

Hope to see you then,

Hi everyone,

Our program was featured on the Better Connecticut show today. I'm forwarding this along not to toot my own horn, but to tell you how much WORK it was to organize this and to say how worth it it always is to engage in advocacy. A board member actually suggested it an arranged it, but I had to make up permission slips for TV, reorganize class times, wear high heels for a whole day, etc! Then, it is tough to tell parents about it because a bunch of kids they interviewed were cut out of the final edit.

這是機會資訊, 我一直與耶魯差肩而過.....

Dear Colleague,

This year's Teach Europe Seminar at Yale is scheduled for Saturday, November 1, and will include workshops that will be of interest to teachers of social studies, humanities, or world languages. It will be held this year in Yale's W.L. Harkness Hall, on the corner of College and Wall Streets.

An outline and an application are below, a description of each workshop is attached, and even more details are available on our website: http://www.teacheurope.org/ . Participants register for Teach Europe by sending the completed application and check to the AATG office in Cherry Hill, NJ, or by contacting me. This year there is no deadline.

We invite you to make use of this unique opportunity by sending a team of teachers (for example, one from social studies/history, one from art, and one world languages) to take part in this remarkable interdisciplinary event. And of course, individual teachers are welcome, too.

With all best wishes,

Dr. Brian Carter
PIER/Outreach Director
Yale European Studies

The MacMillan Center
