葡萄酒界的一大損失: Tibor Gal

Tibor Gal, a leading winemaker in Europe, died in a car accident on Feb. 10 in South Africa, where he was working on a new winery project. He was 46. (WineSpectator)

Roasted King Prawn with thyme in a light pesto sauce, Endive and Oak leaf salad tossed with Tuscany olive and balsamico reduction

Home Made Fresh Ribbon Pasta with duck confit and liver sauce, roasted smoked quail leg on the top.

Grilled U.S.D.A Prime Ribeye steak in a Floretine way, accompanied with delicate potato puree flavoured with black truffle.

Fresh Pear cooked in rum and vanilla syrup, gratinated with Marsala wine flavoured Zabaione and decorated with finely chopped almond.

垂直品酒會: Ornellaia (餐會部分)

這個品酒會雖然是以Ornellaia做為主角，其實也是酒友們的忘年會，以慶祝這一年眾酒友們平安渡過，所以除了好酒外在餐點上也做了特別安排。地點選在復興南路巷子裡的餐廳叫做歐洲風味餐坊。

在眾人到齊後開始上酒，先上桌的是三款香檳: 1997 VCP Reserve Rose，Diebolt-Vallois 'Fleur de Passion' 1998 和Krug Grand Cuvee。1997 VCP 與 Krug Grande Cuvee 跟往常一樣不錯，Diebolt-Vallois 'Fleur de Passion' 1998有著淺黃色的色澤，新鮮的果香、細膩的口感與清新的檸檬酸，非常好喝。搭配這幾款酒的是生蠔與南瓜花菜湯，與香檳搭配起來還可以。

垂直品酒會: Ornellaia (背景資料)

品酒會可分成兩大類:Vertical tasting (垂直品酒會) 和 Horizontal tasting (水平品酒會)。垂直品酒會裡選用的酒品大多是同一個酒款多種年份，主要是比較不同年份差異性在哪與陳年狀況。水平品酒會選用的酒品大多來自是同一個葡萄品種不同產區或同一個產區不同酒廠，主要是比較各產區酒的特色。
