朴子配天宮 Puzi Pei'tian Temple.
It's a popular spot for pilgrimage. It's said that the sea goddess worshipped here (媽祖) is alive because the statue is carved on a still-living tree (it's alive even to this day).

Youth Travel in Taiwan 溪望船情 - Part 1

Traveled by the HSR to my mom and my grandparents' hometown (嘉義朴子) to join a tour organized by the National Youth Commission. I have always wondered what is there in this small seaport town in the county of Jia-yi. Sadly to say, I hardly come down here to see my grandparents and every time I do, I just sit in my grandparent's house for the whole day doing practically nothing. When I heard the YTT is doig a tour to the area, I just went for it & I had so much fun~! :p

We took group pics like this with the banner basically EVERYWHERE we went. We were quite enthusiastic at first then it became a bit too much. haha.

Tour date: Feb 22-24, 2008.

Baroque at the National Palace Museum

Finally went to see the Vienna Kunsthistoriche's exhibition of Baroque paintings at the National Palace Museum! The exhibition was ending soon so I went on a super windy/rainy day although I got a pretty heavy cold at the time. It was great to see the old masters painting from Vienna.
