[My Metropolitan et My CITY]
I suppose I have been out more lately after being "宅“ (rather stay home) for some time. Went to a cocktail-mixing event hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei. There's something certainly quite different about each gathering you go to, and it largely depends on the crowd. This one is rather an interesting mix. It was an event largely involving drinking; not only drinking, but drinking vodka. & Not only drinking vodka but drinking Grey Goose Vodka, the big sponsor of the event. But this event is NOT so much about ACTUALLY drinking; it's more about chilling and mixing, as mentioned on the event title. No one got drunk nor did anything crazy at this private lounge (to your disappointment as I have no stories like these to tell). But there was definitely quite a range of...

Canada Day Reception @ Grand Hyatt

Drift with Sunset to Danshui

When our family frends came to visit us in Taiwan, we invited them to go to Danshui, one of the port towns in the northern part of Taiwan that has so much colonial history. When we got there, the sun was almost gone and the tides were out. The place has a rather rustic feel. Sunrise over Sun and Moon

日月潭的晨霧 - To see the morning mist over the Sun Moon Lake was one of the items for my to-do list for the year. The lake looked rather mysterious early in the morning ( I somehow woke up at 5:50am without an alarm clock). It feels like Switzerland's Zermatt in the morning. Probably because the Sun Moon Lake is also in the mountains.

Golden Cubicles

The golden cubicles of the Fenisia Hotel in Sun Moon Lake (middle part of Taiwan; 日月潭). Maybe it was because the day was pretty busy and long, when we finally got to the hotel, I was quite impressed by the glow that it has from the distance. The hotel is pretty new. Like many hotels near the lake, the huge 921 earthquake a few years ago left many building scarred or no longer usable. With great destruction comes new creations. We love the minimalist + Japanese zen feel of the design style. It's quite similar to our neuhaus. :p From our room, we could also see....
