Round Hakka Mud Castle
Longan, Fujian Province (龍岩,福建省)
Entering the "conventional" round Hakka mud castle in the area.
The bigger ones would have a interior ring of houses and walls surrounded by an outer ring. The castles are normally 3-4 floors high.
Inside the mud castles. Apparently people still actually live in these old mud houses.
Each family would occupy the same "block" (size of 1 room) for 3 floors (vertically). Richer or more "powerful" family might get 2 blocks (size of 2 rooms) for 3 floors.
There was a performance inside one of the mud castles.
Traditional musical performance with Erhu, yangqin & some singing with a sorta traditional.. yet not so traditional (& supposedly non-musical) instrument.
