On March 16, 2008, I took a tour organized by the National Youth Commission to the Bitan Senic Area in the Taipei County. You could get to the place quite easily by MRT and I've always wanted to go... But I wanted to add a special dimension to my travel to the place.
The area around the Bitan lake is currently under development. They have recently torn down the old buildings along the bank.
The place has so many of these "swam" or "whale" paddle boats for people to tour around the lake. The wedding scene of the last episode of the Taiwanese drama 惡作劇之吻 (based on Jap manga) was filmed here with the bride and groom arriving by these "swan" paddle boats.
