There were three theatres in the Balbo Park. One of which was called the Old Globe built in the style of the "Old Globe" in London but definitely with a more modern twist. Unlike the Shakespeare theatre in London, the Old Globe here also puts on musicals, contemporary plays, and .. just theatrical arts in general I suppose. We went there for a performance of...
the "Dancing in the Dark" musical. It's a musical adaptation of the MGM movie the Band Wagon. The original title of the musical was The Band Wagon. But they probably had some legal problem with using that name so they changed it to "Dancing in the Dark" (named after a jazz classic with the same title & it was a number in the musical).

The Old Globe Theatre. There is 2 other theatres around the Globe Theatre. But they're considerably smaller and the stage design is a bit different. One of the other theatres is actually an outdoor Shakespeare theatre where they do Shakespeare's plays in the summer.

I thought the musical was quite a fun one to watch. There's lots of dramatic + contrasting switching back & forth between the imagined or flash-backs and what was really happening at the moment. It was just entertaining and fun to watch. Although there were some "cliche" musical dance moves and lines.. or even story line (sometimes it gets kinda stereotypical of "the" American Musicals), they were able to break away from that for a short period from time to time by introducing a more refreshing thing that makes you laugh.

Intermission. The sky is not suppose to be that bright by the way. ;p
