Haven't been going to places much every since I got back & cancelled/missed quite a few gatherings. :/ I've been pretty busy with my new work assignments & my worries for my school application for 2009 & the planning of my family's big Euro/Pounds Trip this July. I'm quite looking forward to the trip but this time I'm paying the $ so I guess the feeling is a bit mixed. :p Went to this special class about diamonds hosted by Hello UK at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. It was quite a general class with some useful technical terms. Definitely something much more intriguing than regular alumni gatherings! & What's more? There was Grand Hyatt Afternoon Tea and FREE Marks & Spencer...
purse for participants! It was quite worth it just for the purse itself. But I registered for the class before there was a price reduction and a free purse for the class. :p

Apparently Marks & Spencer (a famous brand of store in UK) in Taipei sponsored this Afternoon Filled with Jewelry with this *blink blink* silver purse. It looks great for evening formal function with cocktail gown.

Apparently there' 4 Cs for diamond: Clarity, Color, Cut & C/Karot Weight. & the most important factors to consider when choosing a diamond (apart from budget concerns) are clarity and color. Cut is important when it comes to how well it *BLINK BLINKs* (reflects light). For that matter, ratio of how each part of the diamond relates to another becomes crtifcal. There's 2 broad catagories of cuts for diamonds - RVC (Round Variant Cut) & Fancy Cuts (all the non-round ones as a general rule). & Contrary to public belief, diamond is the hardest rock but it CAN break and crack if handled inappropriately. It has to do with the process of the formation of diamonds in their natural setting.

Then of course there was the extravagant-looking Afternoon Tea with a selection of assorted cakes, biscuits, cupcakes, sandwiches, etc + tea or coffee.
