Yingge is a small historical town in the Taipei County. It is famous for its pottery. As you walk down the oldest street in the tow, you will see pottery stores and studios one after another by the cobbled street. On another main street adjacent to the oldest street in town (this photo), you'll see the old Baroque-style buildings that were probably built for trade posts have now been converted into a modern shopping area with local omiyage (souvenir). People come here not only for reasonably-priced ceramic or pottery things, they also come here for the ...
finest things (ie. modern design, expensive-looking classy things). You could also get customized works done here. Or take a half day lesson on working with pottery.
Me & the more classy windw displays.

We went for lunch at a modern-looking restaurant that uses these bulky but fine-texture cups and bowls. In this case, I ordered an iced fruit tea and it came with a bowl.

My lunch meal with corn/seafood chowder + seafood spaghetti. Yumm~

The exterior of the restaurant. It's actually not that obvious when you're walking down the busy street lined with shops crowded with tourists. The meals are pretty reasonably priced too.

The sky was starting to look a bit too heavy like it was going to thunder rain so we quickly got ourselves in and out of the stores on the Old Street (gotta come here to do what we came here to do!) and head back to the parking lot.

Then these two men in riding suits that look like the Canadian RCMP (mounted police) rode the horse across the old town (which was really not big at all), which I found sort of hilarius.
