俄文的"Astoria" , 就是 "明星". 那天我們到了有著 50 多年歷史的明星咖啡館, 乍看不起眼的小餐廳, 卻曾是一個台灣光復時期文學思想的中心, 許多名人都曾駐足在這充滿俄式異國情調的咖啡廳, 讓這裡...
... 添加了一些神秘的色彩.

The Astoria Cafe was open back in 1949, a old building that is located in one of the busiest area of the day. The original cafe was first opened in Shanghai. The Cafe here was closed for 15 years from the 1970s when stock market fever was high and literature spirit was low.
明星咖啡館位於台北車站與西門町附近, 在 1949 年開業, 位於當時相當熱鬧的西門町. 在1970 年代因經營者年邁, 體力不支加上後期炒股風潮, 經營者決定歇店, 這一歇就是15年. 不過現在又重新出發了.
Now the cafe is on the 2nd floor and its Russian style bakery is downstairs. There are still a lot of people coming here to experience the place on a weekend.
現在的咖啡館在2樓, 1樓成了明星西點的門市. 在假日的中午, 在這間歷史悠久的咖啡廳, 還是有不少顧客.

果醬, 麵包 和 有俄羅斯軟糖的甜點.. 俄羅斯軟糖是這間的特色, 但那口味還真的是有點'特別', 喜好會因人而異.
Jam, bread and Russian chewy candy... The "Russian candy" (the white thing) is one of the specialties" of this cafe. The taste is a bit strange. I guess it's one of those you either love it or hate it kind of thing.
There is a book about this cafe's history. I might read it some day (too many books on my book list now. :P )

在逛回台北車站的途中, 看到了中山堂就拐過去看了一下~
中山堂建於 1928 (日治時代), 日本人為了紀念日皇裕仁登基的一個工程.
On our way to the Taipei Main Station, we passed by the Zhongshan Hall and we detoured a bit to explore the place. The Zhongshan Hall was built in 1928, during the Japanese occupation era, as a tribute to mark te ascension of the Japanese Emperor Hirohito.
1945 台灣光復紀念碑. 當時的受降典禮就在這公會堂前舉行.

中山堂在 1992 南被列為國家二級古蹟. 中美簽訂共同防禦條約及中華民國第二、三、四任總統、副總統就職大典都是在此舉行. 如今中山堂的內部可能只有大集會時比較熱鬧, 現在有點冷清.
The Zhongshan Hall has a glorious past. It was the place where the Sino-US Taiwan Mutual Defense Treaty and the formal inauguration ceremony of the second, third and forth presidency and vice-presidency of the Republic of China (R.O.C.). But as of now, it sits quietly here among the city noises.
There's a cafe on the second floor of the Zhongshan Hall. This place used to be where formal government banquets were held.
