Partie de Champagne.,.+*

Thanks for all the support! This "Partie de Champagne" blog has won the best blog award for the Winter Youth Trekking in Taiwan series with the pages on the tours I went on. I've also won the photography category with the photos of the small mining town and the surrounding Bitan area. Now I've got all my YTT trips this summer paid for + extra goodies. This is fantastic!! :D 

When our family frends came to visit us in Taiwan, we invited them to go to Danshui, one of the port towns in the northern part of Taiwan that has so much colonial history.  When we got there, the sun was almost gone and the tides were out. The place has a rather rustic feel. By the water was the old streets where nightmarket snacks, games, shopping things attract and fill the streets with full of people. On mother's day, it was a reunion of my grandmothers (dad's mom and mom's mom) after 20 years. Thanks to the High Speed Rail, which makes the distace between the north and the south seems much shorter. We went to the Dongshi Fisherman's wharf again, but this time with the grandmoms and my parents. It was really windy and the color of the water definitely much greener than last time (more like blue/purple). The place had a bit more....
