在美國擁有高知名度的藝術盛會「邁阿密SCOPE藝術博覽會」,首次展出台灣新媒體藝術作品,展出時讓參觀民眾十分雀躍,並受到國際人士高度讚賞肯定。
「幻象之丘」—台灣新媒體藝術展,由策展人陳永賢規劃,展出宋璽德、黃心健、曾偉豪、「動畫快線」等最新力作,包括:
(一)宋璽德(Sung Hsi-Te)的動力裝置〈流星雨系列〉,藉由雨滴狀的不銹鋼造型和LED燈組合,自動迴轉之反射光影而構成「威爾遜─林肯效果」(Wilson-Lincoln Effect)的光學幻象,表達時間移動時的鏡像流動意念。
(二)黃心健(Huang Hsin-Chien)的互動體裝置〈皮相底層〉,當觀者將臉部貼近橢圓形位置,後方投射出機關器械般的五官影像,瞬間跟隨觀者臉部而牽動喜怒哀樂表情,實現人們藉由自動控制的虛擬感官。
(三)曾偉豪(Tseng Wei-Hao)現場就地創作的聲音裝置〈PICSOUND〉,在黑白線條穿插之間,觀眾以鉛筆或雙手同時觸碰黑色線條時,立即產生鳥鳴式的反射聲響。此作因觀眾肢體導電功能而傳遞聲音,驗證一種沈浸式之互動關係。
(四)「動畫快線」(Animation Tropes)團隊,展出台灣新世代創作者之電腦動畫,包括:林晉毓、張光祥、馬匡霈、陳麗娟、王尉修、張書維等曾在國際影展大放異彩之作,此精選動畫取材於臺灣本土文化題材,更充分展現動態影像之獨特風格。例如林晉毓〈谿山之城〉,以台北故宮國寶—北宋范寬〈谿山行旅圖〉為創作發想,運用傳統古畫與科技想望而重新組合成一座虛擬空間;張光祥〈阿登仔來扮戲〉則根據台灣歌仔戲真人真事改編,結合錄像與電腦動畫的寓言情境。
策展人陳永賢長期關注於台灣新媒體藝術的特殊性,提出「幻象之丘」(Beyond the Mirage)的概念,針對科技時代的新媒體藝術中幻象感的存在關係,並探討電子媒介、文化關注與視覺感知的議題。他指出:一般人會覺得數位媒介經常讓人眼花撩亂,但經過思索後的影像欲求,能在觀眾沈浸式過程中因沈澱而留下感動,這份微型化的真實與虛幻,透過鏡像媒介轉繹和折射之後,讓視覺符碼產生縐摺,主要值基於視覺文本與文化之轉碼,讓台灣新媒體藝術更具特色。
行政院文化建設委員會主任委員盛治仁相當支持本活動,他認為,科技時代的來臨為當代藝術帶來革命性的衝擊,隨著數位技術的發展,新媒體藝術創作也形成一股新的趨勢,藝術創作結合科技、數位化的整合應用,成為台灣當代藝術之主流表現。在這個不斷求新求變的時代裡,美學創意與人文思維如何透過科技新媒材發聲、實踐,則成為當代新媒體藝術發展中的核心議題。由行政院文化建設委員會指導,駐紐約台北文化中心與國立台灣藝術大學共同主辦之「幻象之丘-台灣新媒體藝術展」,不僅促進文化的交流匯融,讓國際藝壇看見本地創作者的精湛作品,同時也促進台灣當代藝術在國際舞台上發光發熱。

The technological era has revolutionized the development of contemporary art like an electric shockwave, and with the development of digital technology, New Media Art has become a new direction for contemporary art. Artworks combining with technology and the integrated application of digitalization, have become the mainstream expression in Taiwanese contemporary art and also break the format of traditional artistic culture. In this innovating era, the ways of expressing and putting creative aesthetics and humanistic thinking into practice via the new medium of technology have evolved to become a central issue within the development for contemporary New Media Art.
“Beyond the Mirage: Taiwan New Media Art”, is curated by Chen Yung-Hsien, who is interested in the digital representations within the current technological era. The exhibition addresses the existing relationship of mirage within New Media Art and discusses the interlacing issues of electronic interface and visual perception. Artists: Sung Hsi-Te, Huang Hsin-Chien and Tseng Wei-Hao to exhibit their newest works which include dynamic sculptures, interactive performances and sound installations. The exhibition also include a selection of works by Animation Tropes, a group of new generation Taiwanese artists: Lin Chin-Yu, Chang Kuang-Hsiang, Ma Kuang-Pei, Chen Li-Chuan, Wang Wei-Xiu, Chang Shu-Wei, who have each exhibited at several international film festivals. The selected animation works are based on subject matters which relate to local Taiwanese culture and that further display the unique style of animation being generated in Taiwan today.
SCOPE MIAMI -- International Contemporary Art, presents New Media Art from Taiwan for the first time. Its presentation will not only encourage cultural exchange and enable new audiences from the international art scene to be able to see the exquisite works made by the Taiwanese couture, but it could also bring Taiwanese contemporary art to prominence across in the international scene. For this exhibition, supervised by Council for Cultural Affairs and organized by Taipei Cultural Center, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in NewYork and National Taiwan University of Arts.
