九零年起，日本當代攝影在全球攝影版圖中定位逐漸清晰。從六零年代挑釁時期的森山大道、中平卓馬，到八零年代的荒木經惟和及另一路線的森村泰昌，這些藝術家透過出版和展覽而被歐美藝術界接受，市場上也獲得肯定。同一時期，日本國內發展出另一波新的當代攝影潮流，包括長島有里枝、Homma Takashi、Hiromix、佐內正史、鈴木理策、野口里佳等，這波潮流一面承繼過往，一面將日本攝影轉而帶往當代藝術的層面。

似乎有點晚了，但，新年快樂。在台北度過一個漫長的春節後，正在為王琬瑜即將到來的個展而忙碌，並籌備下半年的計畫。王琬瑜的作品已經挑選好，在她最近的作品中我看到更多貼近的瘋狂，這些曾經在台灣的紀實攝影中令人擔憂，在台灣的當代攝影中被視為簡單的快照，其實蘊含了無比的能量。

這陣子為了日本手感設計沒有太多時間寫字思考，佳士得香港拍賣和巴塞爾邁阿密Art Basel Miami Beach就在我的預期下沒有意外的過去了，如同The Art Newspaper所下的標題：Slow and Steady Master are Safe Heaven，而我的Star - Jerry Saltz也在演講中說” It is not hell, it is heaven” （2月份的Art Star來訪問他吧）。
