01. Hope is the thing with feathers 希望恰如羽毛
02. That perches in the soul, 棲在靈魂裡,
03. And sings the tune without the words,唱著無詞的樂曲,
04. And never stops at all, 從不停息.
05. And sweetest in the gale is heard; 微風中 聲最甜;
06. And sore must be the storm 風暴縱然激烈
07. That could abash the little bird 也驚不退這隻
08. That kept so many warm.溫暖生命的小鳥.
09. I've heard it in the chilliest land 聽牠在最淒寒地域,
10. And on the strangest sea; 最詭異的外海;
11. Yet, never, in extremity, 依然,不因窘困,
12. It asked a crumb of me. 向我些些求取.
「不因窘困,向我些些求取」是指無所求。因為通常在窘困的時候,有所求的心就會出來。有一些人平常不生人我相,但最困難的時候,人我相就會跑出來。當身心疲憊時候、很累、飢餓易生不耐煩。
