今年活動因特休假期短少故無法參與盛事(需要請假一週時間)，
無法幫忙出一分力，心裡感到很過意不去，畢竟這是父親堅持一輩子的信念。
對於此活動東港人以最虔誠、卑微的心迎接，以漁業為主的討海人紛紛趕著入港，
忙著參與每三年(一科)舉行一次的平安祭典。
剛好英語課程學習有關此活動，分享以下幾句可以與外國朋友交流。
The Donggang Guardian's ceremony lasts a week. It takes place just once every three years. You'll have to wait another three years if you miss it this year (2009).
The rituals include "asking the guardian to come down to the earth",
"escorting the guardian around the community",
"offering sacrifices to the guardian", and
"sending the guardian back to the heaven".
