“Let the Love Live On” ---- Charity Concert in Memory of Suchi Wu

All Suchi’s musician friends get together to pay tribute to his legacy by playing his originals and creating more beautiful music ourselves. All Suchi’s musical pieces will go up for auction. All proceeds from the auction and concert will go to charity to help those suffering from the clinical depression-related diseases. Let our love for Suchi be passed on to help those in need.

讓愛延續 － 吳書齊紀念音樂會

傑出台灣爵士音樂人吳書齊於2008年3月26日因憂鬱症離開人世，已於4月8日及4月12日在台北和巴黎兩地舉辦追思會，家人與朋友為了將書齊的音樂創作繼續傳遞出去，並且將對書齊的愛轉化為一股動力，幫助更多困於精神牢籠的朋友，於5月3日共同籌畫了「讓愛延續 － 吳書齊紀念音樂會」，齊聚演奏書齊的創作，並以自己的音樂向他致敬！ 

書齊於1999發行第一張爵士鋼琴原創專輯『存在』，獲頒年度爵士音樂評審團大獎，及「LISTEN最美的聲音」誠品年度回顧推薦音樂。之後受 Lee Morgan 啟發開始研習小號，遠赴比利時三年，師事 Nicolas Schepers，期間並與歐洲各爵士樂手表演。後赴巴黎三年，深受 Benoit Delbecq 影響開始專心從事音樂創作。於2007年推出第二張專輯『鹿港』，2008年4月推出的『倒影』專輯成為他的最後作品。 

書齊的作品著意於真實情感的即興呈現，他用『存在』來證明他的存在，用『鹿港』去追踪祖先們的步履，以音樂創作去確認自己是存在著。末了，『倒影』表達出讓他一生投入熱情的爵士樂，不管是標準曲和他的自創曲，是最後留在大家心裏頭的倒影，彷彿是再次告訴大家－我存在著。 

「讓愛延續 － 吳書齊紀念音樂會」，將於5月3日週六下午2點到4點於台北黑糖 Brown Sugar餐廳舉辦，免費開放入場，現場將義賣書齊的所有作品，款項將全數捐贈『生活調適愛心會』。

 “Let the Love Live On” --- Charity Concert in Memory of Suchi Wu

Suchi Wu, born on November 12, 1975, in Kaohsiung City, passed away on March 26, 2008, due to chronic depression. The funeral for Suchi was held in Taipei on April 8 and in Paris on April 12, 2008. In order to pass on the musical creations of Suchi’s and to help those who suffer from the similar diseases as Suchi’s , his family and friends will be holding a Charity Concert – “Let the Love Live On” – Charity Concert in Memory of Suchi Wu --. Many musicians will get together to pay tribute to Suchi’s musical legacy, by playing Suchi’s music, as well as musical pieces of their own. 

Suchi began his musical journey in Jazz at the age of 16, when he first heard the album of Oscar Peterson Trio’s. In 1999, Suchi released his first Jazz Piano album, titled “Pure Existence” and won “The Yearly Jury Awards for Jazz Music”. He then went to and studied Jazz Trumpet under the guidance of Nicolas Schepers. During his 3-year studies in , Suchi had worked with many well-respected European Jazz musicians. Upon completing his musical exploration in , Suchi went to Paris , and was deeply inspired by Benoit Delbecq’s music-composing talent. So Suchi decided to stay in Paris for 3 years, in order to concentrate on creating his own musical pieces. In 2007, Suchi released his 2^nd Jazz album “Port Deer”. In this year 2008, April, Suchi released his 3^rd Jazz album, titled “Reflection”, which became his last musical masterpiece. 

What makes Suchi’s music so unique is that audience can easily feel Suchi’s deep artistic passion and talents, through Suchi’s spontaneous way in creating every piece of his music.  In the album “Pure Existence”, Suchi established his musical existence and foundation through this first album of his.  In his second album “Port Deer”, he traced his root, by searching for the footsteps of those ancestors who came to hundred years ago. Finally, Suchi expressed his deep passion for jazz music and life itself, in his 3^rd and final album “Reflection”, an album that re-affirms Suchi’s musical existence. Suchi’s love will always have a place in the hearts of those who have been deeply touched by his music, passion, and true friendship.

“ Let the Love Live On”  --- A Charity  Concert  will be held in fond memories of Suchi Wu. 
All Suchi’s musical pieces will go up for auction. All proceeds gained from the concert will go to the ”i-Life Foundation”, which gives help to those suffering from clinical depressions.
