今天在WSJ上面有一篇" Is It Time to Dump Your Desktop? Web-based software claims to do everything". 此文主要在探討網路何時會取代微軟, 成為大家的桌面系統(desktop)
On the daily basis, 我登入的網站可分為下列幾類 : 新聞雜誌, 部落格, services (電話電視銀行,etc.) and 工具網站(本文的主題).

Portals 網路門戶:
My Yahoo http://my.yahoo.com/ 線上書籤 & up to 5 portal pages. 有數百個 modules可供妳放在妳網頁上. 可有限度的與Outlook sync.
Google http://google.com Similar to My Yahoo but is lagging content-wise.
Notes 線上筆記:
Google Notebook http://www.google.com/notebook/ Great site for anyone who is "taking notes" online a lot. You can highlight a paragraph and click a button to have it saved to your "online Notebook". You can also type in in your own "notes" easily. You can create many "Notebooks" with "Chapters" (Dividers) It's "sharable".
WebPages 喜愛網頁儲存:
My Web 2.0 http://myweb2.search.yahoo.com/ It allows you to archive any web pages (both link & contents) you visit forever, with "tagging" (so far the best way to organize). You can selectively share some of your links.
Photos 家庭相簿:
Flickr http://flickr.com/ Unlimited storage with Pro account ($25 a year), support tags and a lot of great management tools. It also has clusters and groups to create online communities easily.
Calendar 線上行事曆:
Google Calendar http://www.google.com/calendar To easily consolidate calendars of your own, your family, your coworkers, and any public ones.
Blogs 部落格:
Yam http://blog.yam.com/ Plug-ins, response management, etc.
Blogger http://www.blogger.com Easy to create multiple "domains" and manage all of them easily.
WiKi 集體合作網頁:
WetPaint http://www.wetpaint.com/. Create your own wiki pages for online collaboration.

http://meeboe.com可以用任何browser快速的(with one login)連上妳的所有IM(msn,aol,yahoo,icq,etc...) 妳可以不用在妳公司的電腦上裝任何軟體, 妳的通話也不會被監控, 另外妳也可以在客戶端或網咖跟家人朋友同事保持聯絡 (added 7/26/06)
希望這些"工具網站"增加了妳的生產力, so you can have more time off-line, to spend with your friends and family. :)
